Journyx has been helping businesses track time for over 25 years. Project time, payroll time, time and attendance, they’ve got the lot. Trusted by 6,000+ companies worldwide, with deep integrations into Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle NetSuite, Sage Intacct and more. Serious software. Serious pedigree.
The website, though? Not keeping up. It was slow, cumbersome on mobile, weighed down by legacy code and an old theme that nobody on the two-person marketing team really knew how to manage. Cookie issues, performance problems, and a site that simply wasn’t doing justice to the product behind it.
The brief, prepared for Journyx alongside SEO specialists Quiet Owl, was to tear it back and rebuild , a fully custom WordPress theme, no page builders, minimal plugins, mobile-first design, and a clean content structure that a small internal team could actually maintain long-term without needing to call us every time something needed updating.
The finished Journyx site is clean, confident and properly fast — a night and day improvement on what came before. The UX was the big focus here. Journyx has a genuinely complex product suite — two distinct product lines, multiple personas across finance, project management, HR and payroll, plus a partner programme — and the challenge was making all of that feel intuitive rather than overwhelming.
I mapped the user journeys carefully in Figma, designing clear pathways for each type of visitor so they reach the right product and the right call to action without having to think too hard about it. The UI followed the brand direction with a fresh, modern feel — clear hierarchy, strong use of product screenshots, and a visual tone that says “we know what we’re doing” without being stuffy about it.
The custom WordPress build is lean and fast, with HubSpot forms, OneTrust cookie management and a powerful on-site search all integrated cleanly. The marketing team can manage it themselves. That was the goal. Job done.
